About the Opportunity
This role is with a rapidly expanding fintech business in India that is modernising capital markets and corporate finance through digital-first investment banking services. The company supports fast-growing startups, mid-market businesses, and emerging unicorns with strategy-led, technology-enabled solutions. The position will lead the investment banking function and shape transactions that have the potential to influence entire sectors.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of M&A deals, private placements, and fundraising mandates for clients in fintech, SaaS, and deep-tech.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with PE and VC funds, family offices, sovereign wealth funds, and strategic acquirers across India and Southeast Asia.
- Create financing structures such as convertible notes, SAFEs, and debt-based solutions suited to high-growth technology companies.
- Direct pitch preparation, financial analysis and modelling, due diligence, and transaction documentation for client engagements.
- Hire, coach, and grow a high-performing investment banking team, while defining KPIs, deal flow, and client acquisition approaches.
- Work closely with product and growth teams to integrate capital advisory capabilities into the company’s fintech offerings.
Skills & Qualifications
- Core experience in investment banking.
- Strong capability in financial modelling and analysis.
- Hands-on exposure to mergers and acquisitions.
- Experience handling capital raising and private equity-related transactions.
- Knowledge of due diligence and valuation methods.
- Advantageous background in fintech or technology-focused banking.
- Well-developed network within the Indian PE/VC ecosystem.
- Ability to execute cross-border transactions.
