Investment Banking Associate - Industrials

Role Overview

The Investment Banking Associate position plays an integral role in supporting clients with capital market fundraising and offering strategic advisory services for mergers, acquisitions, and other financial transactions, in close collaboration with the Institutional Banking division. This role also acts as a client intermediary in trading and aims to provide strategic investment counsel and capital solutions to clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the execution of Citi's investment banking operations.
• Utilize previous investment banking or related expertise to improve M&A transaction execution and elevate capital raising efforts.
• Contribute towards strengthening Citi's market presence and franchise.
• Guide and mentor analysts by offering precise directions, feedback, and managing information and credit exposure details appropriately.
• Evaluate risks diligently in business decisions, uphold the firm’s reputation, ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies, exercise ethical judgment in conduct and business practices, and transparently address control issues.

Candidate Qualifications

• Between 5 to 8 years of pertinent experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or closely related fields, with a preference for candidates holding an MBA.
• Proven experience analyzing corporate transactions and financial structures.
• Expertise in preparing detailed financial analyses.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and organizational skills.
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication abilities.
• Experience contributing to client development initiatives.
• Team collaboration skills and business development tracking capabilities, including research and industry trend analysis.
• Possession of Series 79 and 63 licenses.

Additional Information

• Educational Requirement: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.

• This is a full-time, onsite position based in New York, NY.
• Salary range for this role is $175,000 to $225,000 annually.
• Compensation package may include both discretionary and formula-based incentive awards.
