Overview

Join a rapidly expanding and dynamic segment of a major global investment bank as an Investment Banking Associate stationed in Menlo Park. In this integral role, you will support the technology investment banking division by facilitating financial transactions and guiding clients through strategic financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive financial modeling and valuation to inform transaction decisions.
  • Create detailed pitch books and presentations that clearly communicate complex financial ideas for client interactions.
  • Develop profiles and informative memoranda highlighting key client company features and acquisition potentials.
  • Perform extensive industry and market analysis to uncover trends, opportunities, and position comparisons.
  • Assist in due diligence by coordinating the collection of crucial information from various parties across multiple financial products including M&A, equity capital markets, leveraged finance, and private placements.
  • Collaborate with senior bankers to formulate strategic recommendations for clients.
  • Stay updated on financial news and developments relevant to clients and the investment banking sector.
  • Support transaction execution through documentation preparation and communication with legal and compliance teams.
  • Participate actively in client meetings and provide analytical insights.
  • Work cross-functionally to secure necessary approvals for transaction completion.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with a deep understanding of financial concepts.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and Excel.
  • Exceptional communication abilities, both written and verbal, enabling clear presentation of complex data.
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to perform efficiently under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Collaborative team player mindset.
  • Prior relevant experience in investment banking, finance, or related sectors preferred.
  • Required certifications include SIE, Series 79, and Series 63; candidates not yet certified must obtain these within five months of hire.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s degree from a leading university, preferably in Economics, Accounting, or Finance.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary is competitive and will vary depending on experience and skills.
