Role overview
This position is for an Analyst within the Investment Banking coverage group, focused on Real Assets clients in Australia. The role is centered on transaction execution, client-facing materials, marketing support, and broader coverage activities. You may also contribute to the team's culture, capabilities, and long-term strategy, and at times take the lead on specific work streams.
What you will do
- Support the end-to-end execution of transactions, including pitch preparation, financial analysis, and the creation of internal and client-ready presentations.
- Take ownership of parts of the execution process and work alongside associates while assisting more senior bankers.
- Develop stronger abilities in analysis, modelling, research, writing, and presentation, with the expectation of growing into a more senior role over time.
- Build working knowledge of global and Australian market sectors and the participants within them, and collaborate with colleagues across the global platform and local product teams.
- Contribute enthusiastically to the firm's goals and demonstrate strong commitment to the success of the business.
- Work with a large APAC analyst and associate network on live transactions, which may involve travel.
Required background and capabilities
- At least 2 years of experience in investment banking or a finance-related field, with familiarity with relevant products and services.
- A strong academic profile from a leading educational institution.
- Solid financial modelling capability.
- Working understanding of M&A and capital markets transaction stages and associated processes.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior professionals, clients, and stakeholders across other product groups.
- A proactive, driven, and committed approach, plus the ability to perform independently and in a team setting.
