Job description

Overview

The Investment Banking Analyst role operates at an intermediate level, focusing on assisting clients to secure capital from markets and offering strategic advisory services related to mergers, acquisitions, and various financial transactions in collaboration with the Institutional Banking team. Additionally, this position involves acting as an intermediary in client trading activities. The principal goal is to deliver strategic investment guidance and support capital raising efforts on behalf of clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with senior Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) officers and professionals, participating as a junior team member on selected client transactions, projects, or assignments within Investment Banking.
  • Organize and perform intricate financial data analyses to support client proposals and strategic planning.
  • Develop written recommendations, valuation presentations, and statistical exhibits for both proposal pitches and active deal processes.
  • Conduct economic and financial research to inform decision-making.
  • Assess financial performance of companies in relation to industry standards and market conditions.
  • Construct complex financial models aimed at valuation and strategic assessment.
  • Assess risks prudently when making business decisions, with careful regard for safeguarding the firm’s reputation, clients, and assets. Adhere to relevant legal and regulatory frameworks, company policies, and ethical standards, while transparently managing and reporting control concerns.

Required Qualifications

  • Between 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in investment banking or related financial fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a closely associated area.
  • Possession of Series 79 and 63 licenses is mandatory.
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Capability to perform under pressure in fast-paced, dynamic environments and meet tight deadlines.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent university qualification.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this full-time position in New York ranges from $110,000 to $135,000. In addition to base pay, eligible employees may receive discretionary, formula-based incentives, and retention awards.
