About the Role
This opportunity is for a Senior Analyst or Junior Associate to join a top-tier MedTech investment banking team, working either in Boston or San Francisco. The role spans strategic mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and advisory services tailored to innovative companies in medical devices, diagnostics, life science tools, and healthcare technology.
The position offers significant client engagement, responsibilities, and collaboration with senior bankers on complex and high-profile deals within a fast-moving and entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and update complex financial models such as operating models, valuations (including DCF, comparables, precedent transactions, LBO), merger and accretion/dilution analyses.
- Craft diverse client-facing materials including pitch presentations, confidential information memoranda, management decks, board reports, and marketing documents related to transactions.
- Conduct thorough research on companies and market segments spanning MedTech ecosystem: medical devices, diagnostics, life sciences, digital health, and healthcare technologies.
- Assist in the execution of M&A deals (both sell-side and buy-side), equity and debt financings, and strategic advisory projects.
- Lead financial and operational due diligence efforts, manage diligence processes and data rooms.
- Liaise directly with clients, private equity sponsors, legal and accounting teams, and other stakeholders throughout deal cycles.
- Monitor ongoing healthcare and MedTech market trends, public markets activity, financing, and competitive dynamics.
- Mentor junior analysts (if at Associate level) and foster a cooperative team atmosphere.
Candidate Requirements
- Two to four years of investment banking experience, ideally focused on Healthcare, MedTech, Life Sciences, or Technology sectors.
- Solid understanding of corporate finance, accounting principles, valuation techniques, and financial statement interpretation.
- Advanced skills in financial modeling and Excel proficiency.
- Strong expertise in PowerPoint and presentation creation.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple projects efficiently under demanding deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree with strong academic results in fields such as Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or Biology.
- Certifications like CPA or CFA, or a graduate degree, are advantageous but not mandatory.
- Preferred experience includes life sciences sectors such as MedTech, Diagnostics, or Biotech.
- Proven track record of completing M&A deals from initiation through closing.
- Experience servicing public company clients in ECM or M&A contexts is highly desirable.
