The firm is seeking a highly capable Associate-VP 1 to join the Industrials investment banking team in New York City. This position offers prominent client exposure, significant analytical and deal execution responsibilities, and a direct progression track to Vice President. It provides a supportive, entrepreneurial environment with mentorship and chances to handle meaningful transaction responsibilities and collaborate with senior management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead deep-dive research on companies, competitors, and sector trends relevant to transactions.
  • Oversee critical transaction workstreams from engagement start to closure, including coordination with legal, accounting, and advisory services.
  • Develop impactful client presentations and materials, facilitating direct engagement with CEOs, CFOs, and Board members.
  • Understand client strategic goals to offer actionable recommendations and serve as a trusted technical advisor.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior analysts, lead internal deal teams, and contribute to firm culture and intellectual capital.
  • Support preparations for industry events and conferences hosted by the firm.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year experience as an investment banking Associate, with strong preference for M&A deal leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise within the Industrials sector, especially in Capital Goods, Transportation, Automotive, Business Services, Chemicals, Building Products, Packaging, or Aerospace & Defense.
  • Exceptional quantitative and financial modeling skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication abilities, including experience presenting to C-suite executives.
  • Proven multi-project management capabilities and leadership skills, with a commitment to team development.
  • Bachelor's degree from a leading university, demonstrating top academic accomplishment.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment valuing initiative, creativity, maturity, and professionalism with a strong collaborative spirit.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree such as an MBA from a top-tier institution.
  • Experience across diverse subsectors within Industrials and multiple types of transactions.
  • Background in private equity, operating roles, or strategic consulting related to industrials.
  • Technical mastery of complex deal structures and innovative financing solutions.
  • Exposure to multiple market cycles and a track record for mentoring junior team members.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive base salary ranging between $185,000 and $275,000 commensurate with experience.
  • Performance bonuses with significant upside potential.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • 401(k) plan with employer matching contributions.
  • Dedicated professional development resources and a strong focus on career progression.
  • Supportive work-life balance practices tailored to individual needs.
  • Opportunities to attend industry conferences and expand professional networks.
