Job description
Role Overview
Join a prominent investment banking and capital markets firm as an Investment Banking Analyst, where you'll collaborate closely with seasoned bankers, institutional investors, and corporate clients. This position provides comprehensive exposure to the entire lifecycle of investment banking transactions, spanning public offerings, private placements, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic advisory projects.
Primary Responsibilities
- Evaluate potential investment banking deals via financial modeling, valuation assessments, market research, and due diligence processes.
- Develop and update financial models incorporating comparable company analysis, precedent transactions, discounted cash flow (DCF), and other valuation techniques.
- Contribute to executing equity and debt capital raises, public offerings, private placements, and M&A transactions.
- Perform industry and competitor research and gather market intelligence to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and target clients.
- Create pitch books, investor presentations, confidential information memorandums (CIMs), offering documents, and marketing materials for clients and investors.
- Support financial and operational due diligence by analyzing company financials, business operations, and key performance metrics.
- Coordinate transaction processes with clients, legal advisors, accountants, institutional investors, and other external parties involved in deals.
- Oversee transaction timelines, manage data room activities, and assist senior bankers in successfully delivering client engagements.
- Draft investment memorandums, internal analyses, and presentation decks for senior management and investment committees.
Candidate Qualifications
- Between one and three years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate finance, capital markets, private equity, transaction advisory, or a related financial sector role.
- Proficient in financial modeling, valuation, analytical thinking, and solving complex problems.
- Skilled in constructing three-statement financial models and conducting company and transaction valuations.
- Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of financial platforms like Capital IQ, Bloomberg, FactSet, or PitchBook is advantageous.
- Strong grasp of corporate finance principles, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, equity funding, and financial statement analysis.
- Exceptional written and spoken communication abilities to develop professional client-facing materials.
- A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a closely related discipline.
