Role Overview
The Investment Associate will work closely with the Impact Investment team, focusing on transaction processing, client support, and reporting functions. This position suits highly organized and adaptable individuals who excel in a collaborative environment and have strong communication skills. The associate will interface regularly with the Impact Operations Lead, Investment Analyst, the wider team, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain client and stakeholder reports.
- Handle membership and investment application processing.
- Prepare and distribute investment documentation and obtain necessary approvals.
- Provide superior customer service through email, phone, and direct communications with clients and investors.
- Manage client/member tax documentation.
- Support scheduled yield distributions to members/investors using Tapestry’s platform.
- Track memberships and investments using existing templates and innovate new solutions as required.
- Create customized reports for clients promptly upon request.
- Oversee project investments by monitoring interest accrual, coordinating reinvestments or repayments, and ensuring secure, up-to-date documentation.
- Contribute to securities dealing tasks connected with community bond sales as the role evolves.
Candidate Requirements
- 1 to 3 years of experience in operations or transaction management.
- A degree in bookkeeping, accounting, finance, or demonstrable relevant experience.
- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and time management capabilities.
- Strong adherence to protocols with flexibility to handle interruptions.
- Experience providing one-on-one customer service.
- Proficiency in Excel for report creation.
- Familiarity with database or accounting software.
- Meticulous attention to detail and diligence.
- Experience working in regulated environments.
- Strong numeracy and data management skills.
- Willingness to complete the Exempt Market Proficiency Course/Dealing Certification within first three months if not already certified.
Preferred Qualifications
- Accounting, finance, or bookkeeping certification is advantageous.
- Knowledge of social enterprise and social finance sectors.
- Experience with payment systems and transaction coordination.
- Skilled in logistics such as courier coordination and mail handling.
- Familiar with digital document scanning and filing standards.
- Bilingual abilities in English and French are a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary between 56,780 and 64,000 CAD, based on experience.
- A flexible work environment with a remote-first approach and occasional presence at the Toronto office.
