What you will do
- Carry out detailed fundamental research and financial analysis on listed businesses in Greater China, including China and Hong Kong, as well as wider Asian markets.
- Develop and update financial models, valuation tools, and investment cases that inform portfolio decisions.
- Track current holdings, market movements, macro trends, and sector developments to spot opportunities and flag risks.
- Undertake full due diligence using company analysis, earnings reviews, industry research, channel checks, and discussions with management when relevant.
- Draft clear investment memos and present research conclusions and recommendations to the wider investment team.
- Work closely with senior investors on idea sourcing, portfolio construction, ongoing monitoring, and trade execution.
What the role requires
- About 3 to 5 years of experience in public equities, equity research, investment banking, asset management, or hedge funds.
- Prior coverage of China and/or Hong Kong listed companies is strongly preferred.
- Strong capability in financial modelling, valuation, accounting, and analytical thinking.
- A good grasp of public market investing and a clear interest in fundamental, long-term investing.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to explain investment views in a concise and compelling way.
- A proactive mindset, strong intellectual curiosity, and genuine enthusiasm for investing.
Preferred profile
- Experience covering sectors such as Technology, Internet, AI, Consumer, Healthcare, Industrials, or similar growth-oriented areas.
- Background in bottom-up fundamental research and a track record of generating independent investment ideas.
- CFA study or qualification is helpful, though not mandatory.
