About the Role
Swiss Re is seeking an enthusiastic and driven professional to begin or advance their career in private markets via a hands-on role focusing on private debt investments. This role suits candidates with prior experience in analyzing structured credit transactions and a keen interest in credit investing, portfolio management, and financial markets.
As a Private Debt Investment Analyst based in New York, you will contribute significantly to the development and management of Swiss Re's Private Debt asset class. You will gain exposure to a diverse range of assets including public and private securitized products, specialty finance, asset-backed lending, infrastructure lending, commercial mortgages, and private credit.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough analysis and evaluation of investment prospects across structured credit, asset-backed finance, and other private market opportunities originating from external asset managers.
- Manage and monitor Private Debt asset managers with ongoing evaluation of their investment strategies and operational processes.
- Create and maintain robust portfolio monitoring tools capturing key metrics on returns and risks.
- Lead collaboration with stakeholders to develop customized reporting and presentations for internal business units and committees.
- Keep abreast of market trends across ABS, RMBS, CMBS, consumer finance, specialty lending, and other private market sectors.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in finance, economics, or related disciplines; CFA designation or similar qualifications are advantageous.
- 2 to 5 years of pertinent experience in structured credit, securitized products, or asset-backed financing.
- Strong comprehension of structured finance principles, credit analysis techniques, and securitization frameworks.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel as necessary.
About the Team and Company
The Private Debt team is a globally distributed group of investment professionals based in New York, Zurich, and London, part of Swiss Re Group Asset Management. The team manages diverse portfolios covering infrastructure, commercial mortgages, mid-market loans, and private asset-backed finance.
Swiss Re operates a hybrid work model requiring at least three days per week in the office, with an option for full-time office presence. This position is not eligible for full remote work or visa sponsorship.
