Role overview

Hermes Fund Managers Ireland Limited is a subsidiary of Federated Hermes Limited. This position supports the Head of Investment / Designated Person for Investment Management in the Dublin office. The analyst will help review and interpret a range of investment products managed by the firm, including public markets, private equity, private credit, money market funds, and trade finance assets.

What you will do

• Carry out in-depth portfolio reviews to understand exposures, asset allocation, concentration risks, performance patterns, and how investments compare with fund strategies.
• Assess investment rules and guidelines in the context of regulatory and client requirements, flagging possible breaches and supporting updates to the oversight framework.
• Join discussions with portfolio managers to review mandates, share portfolio insights, and evaluate how proposed actions may affect risk and guideline limits.
• Track market and regulatory changes and consider how they may influence investment ideas, portfolio positioning, processes, and guidelines.
• Contribute to oversight of investment decisions across asset classes such as equities, fixed income, derivatives, and alternatives.
• Review new products and strategies, including rule mapping and scenario analysis, to understand strategy design, risk profile, and operational impact.
• Draft and present reports for senior leaders with practical insights on exposures, trends, and any breaches.
• Prepare meeting summaries for portfolio managers and help maintain dashboards and other information used in investment forums, committees, boards, and internal meetings.
• Support additional projects and initiatives across the Irish office and wider Federated Hermes group.

Skills and experience needed

A solid background in data analysis is essential. The role requires the ability to examine investment data, interpret guidelines, and assess investment rules. Familiarity with tools such as Power BI dashboards, along with working knowledge of SQL and Python, would be an advantage.
