The Investment Analyst / Financial Analyst role focuses on financial evaluation, investment research, and performance assessment to help guide strategic choices, portfolio decisions, and business expansion. Core responsibilities

You will review financial statements, assess company performance, build valuation models, and develop financial forecasts to measure investment potential and business results. The role also involves both quantitative and qualitative research, tracking industry and market changes, and keeping an eye on economic signals that could affect investment approaches and financial outcomes.

In addition, you will prepare investment reports, forecasts, business cases, dashboards, presentations, and management summaries that clearly present analytical findings. The work includes competitor benchmarking, risk analysis, sensitivity testing, scenario modelling, and portfolio performance review to support planning and investment decisions.

You will work closely with finance, strategy, business, and senior leadership teams to share financial insights, evaluate projects, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and contribute to long-term financial planning. Monitoring regulatory updates, market conditions, and new industry trends is also part of the role so recommendations stay relevant and well-informed.

Ongoing refinement of analytical models, reporting workflows, and financial methods is expected to improve decision-making efficiency and support business goals.

Qualifications and skills

The ideal candidate should have a strong grasp of corporate finance, investment analysis, financial statement review, valuation techniques, financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and capital markets. You should be comfortable interpreting complex financial information and converting it into data-backed recommendations.

Hands-on ability with spreadsheets, financial modelling methods, reporting tools, presentation software, business intelligence platforms, and financial databases is important. Exposure to data visualisation tools and statistical analysis will be considered an advantage.

This role also calls for strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities, along with the judgment to evaluate financial performance, identify trends, assess investment opportunities, and conduct risk analysis.

Knowledge of portfolio analysis, investment appraisal, corporate valuation, discounted cash flow (DCF), financial forecasting, scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and performance measurement techniques is expected.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed to produce professional financial reports, investment presentations, and executive summaries for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Strong organisation, close attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to manage several analytical tasks while maintaining accuracy and quality in a fast-paced, collaborative setting are also essential.
