Investment Analysis Expert

Overview

This is a freelance-style contract role for a finance and banking specialist who will help create demanding evaluation benchmarks for document understanding and instruction-following systems. The work is independent, flexible, and centered on producing authoritative content based on authentic financial materials.

The opportunity is remote and the compensation is set at $90 to $110 per hour, with an expected commitment of 15 to 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Create advanced, multi-step tasks built from real financial documents such as statements, reports, and spreadsheets, each with a clearly defined correct answer.
• Develop scoring rubrics that objectively measure how well a model can reason through both structured and unstructured financial information.
• Build tasks covering document interpretation, numerical analysis, and instruction-following in corporate finance, capital markets, and banking settings.
• Incorporate scenarios that involve web search and code execution so the outputs can be checked and reproduced.
• Keep every task realistic and technically accurate so the benchmark remains trustworthy.

Requirements

• Proven practical background in at least one finance area such as investment analysis, corporate finance, banking and capital markets, financial management, or financial advisory.
• Ability to translate expert reasoning into structured task formats that can be evaluated consistently.
• Strong knowledge of financial statements, valuation methods, and the analytical approaches used in professional finance work.
• Experience handling complex financial models, reports, and data-heavy documentation.
• Skill in defining exact ground-truth outputs and unambiguous evaluation criteria.
• Comfort working independently as a contractor and delivering work on a weekly cadence.

Additional strengths

• Exposure to spreadsheet-based financial modeling, structured data environments, or quantitative finance workflows.
• Previous work in content creation, technical writing, or instructional design within finance.
• Familiarity with automation tools or code-based validation workflows.
