About Emirates NBD

Emirates NBD is a leading financial institution across the MENAT region, with operations in 13 countries and a customer base of more than 20 million. The group operates 853 branches and 4,213 ATMs/SDMs, and is recognised as one of the UAE’s strongest banking brands with a brand value of USD 3.89 billion. Its business spans retail banking, corporate and institutional banking, Islamic banking, investment banking, private banking, asset management, global markets and treasury, and brokerage services. The bank is also a major digital banking player, with 97% of financial transactions and service requests completed outside branches, and it runs Liv, a fast-growing lifestyle digital bank with nearly half a million users.

Role Overview

In this Investment Adviser position, you will evaluate client risk and return expectations, carry out need-based analysis, and build suitable investment portfolios that align with each client’s goals. The role involves direct client interaction, deal closure, portfolio monitoring, and delivering a strong advisory experience for Emirates NBD clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Offer specialist investment guidance and support to Senior Relationship Managers and ultra-high-net-worth advisory clients across equities, fixed income, FX and commodities, funds, real estate, structured products, direct investments, derivatives, and discretionary mandates.
  • Spot opportunities for cross-selling across business teams and help execute them.
  • Support Relationship Managers in attracting additional assets under management, introducing new products, and identifying prospective investment clients.
  • Check that advisory and discretionary trades are executed correctly and captured in the Advent system.
  • Continuously review client risk profiles and update them when needed.
  • Select appropriate solutions from the available product range based on client needs.
  • Build investment portfolios using risk profile information, product availability, and current asset allocation models.
  • Track and report on the performance of client investment portfolios on a regular basis.
  • Reassess and rebalance client risk profiles over time, and discuss any proposed changes with clients and relationship teams.
  • Work with the Chief Investment Office to prepare and present investment account reviews.
  • Review positions, asset allocation, and suitability, and recommend investment switches or new ideas where appropriate.
  • Take part in hiring for Investment Adviser roles, including profile screening and interviews.
  • Support the ongoing professional development of team members in both technical and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a finance-related discipline.
  • CFA charterholder status, or active participation in the CFA program.
  • Prior experience in private banking with an investment-focused background.
  • Strong knowledge of financial products and services, fees and charges, legal provisions, service delivery processes, equity and bond markets, unit trusts, and personal investment offerings.
  • Good grasp of core financial theory.
  • Understanding of securities dealing and forex trade procedures through treasury dealers, within delegated authority.
  • Ability to communicate in Hindi and/or Russian.
