Job description
Role overview
This position is for an Investment Banking Analyst to support a mid-market Fintech-focused advisory team in London. The firm operates across the UK and Europe and provides services in M&A, ECM, and debt advisory. The team is led by a senior managing director with deep experience in originating and completing mid-market Fintech deals.
What the role involves
The analyst will be closely involved in live transactions, taking part in deal origination, analysis, and execution. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to contribute directly to the transaction process rather than observing from the sidelines.
Key responsibilities
- Develop valuation outputs and construct detailed financial models for transactions.
- Create presentation materials for both clients and internal stakeholders.
- Join client discussions and coordinate with external advisors as needed.
- Carry out market, sector, and sub-sector research to support investment decisions.
- Prepare statistical analysis on fund and business performance.
- Work in close partnership with colleagues to deliver accurate, high-quality work.
Experience and skills needed
The ideal candidate will bring 2 to 3 years of mid-market M&A execution experience gained in an investment banking environment, preferably with sell-side exposure. A genuine interest in the fintech space is a plus.
Strong technical accounting knowledge is important, including the ability to perform three-statement analysis. The role also calls for advanced financial modelling, strong quantitative ability, and a proactive approach with clear ownership of tasks.
Success in this role requires comfort working under pressure, in fast-paced situations, and as part of a collaborative team.
