Role overview
This position focuses on growing and managing a portfolio of corporate clients within the manufacturing sector. The role combines business development, relationship management, credit coordination, and portfolio monitoring to support revenue growth while maintaining sound risk standards.
Key responsibilities
- Drive new business through outreach to both prospective and existing customers, working under senior guidance where required.
- Oversee a portfolio of corporate relationships in the manufacturing segment.
- Track daily account activity for existing corporate clients to uncover opportunities for deeper engagement and additional business.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of potential deals from companies that are not yet bank customers.
- Create cross-sell strategies for both new and current clients to maximize value for the bank.
- Evaluate client requests, draft proposals aligned with policy and customer needs, and discuss them with Corporate Credit for final approval.
- Work closely with Treasury, Trade, Cash Management, and Retail Banking teams to meet clients’ full banking requirements.
Business development focus
- Promote the bank to new customers and identify opportunities for cross-selling.
- Maintain close contact with current clients to understand changing business needs and uncover growth opportunities.
- Provide timely updates to line managers so business volumes can be expanded and account strategies can be adjusted case by case.
- Move quickly on commercial opportunities while maintaining strong credit quality.
Risk management
- Apply risk policies, procedures, and monitoring practices to identify, analyze, assess, treat, and track risk.
- Work in line with the bank’s risk policies, especially those relevant to the assigned business segment.
- Monitor the assigned portfolio closely to prevent unauthorized limit excesses, expired facilities, and overdue unpaid obligations.
- Watch for early warning indicators in accounts and escalate them to the line manager for action.
Operational and administrative support
- Support Associate Relationship Managers and Relationship Officers in carrying out their responsibilities effectively.
- Assist the corporate support and operations teams with back-office and operational matters related to the assigned corporate portfolio to ensure strong customer service.
Qualifications and experience
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, commerce, accounting, or a related discipline from a recognized institution is required.
- Professional CA/equivalent qualification or an MBA in Finance from a reputable institution is preferred.
- Minimum 5 to 7 years of corporate banking experience in a relationship management role, including business development, within the UAE.
- A goal-driven mindset with a proven record of delivering results is essential.
- Strong English communication skills are required, along with the ability to communicate in Arabic and Hindi/Urdu.
