Interior Designer - Gaming & Hospitality

About the Role

Montgomery Roth, a Shive-Hattery division based in Houston, Texas, is hiring immediately for a full-time Interior Designer. The ideal candidate will bring at least 3 years of experience in a design firm and a strong interest in hospitality-focused work.

The firm is a collaborative, full-service practice with capabilities in interior design, architecture, engineering, and landscape architecture. This position offers the opportunity to contribute across the full lifecycle of projects and build skills in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Participating with the project team from early programming and scope planning through design, documentation, and implementation
• Working closely with the project architect and/or senior interior designer to support delivery across all phases
• Helping develop design presentations and visual materials
• Creating Revit/BIM models and preparing project documentation
• Adhering to established standards for project development and production
• Continuing professional development through training and learning opportunities

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Interior Design program
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Interior Design, or an equivalent qualification
• NCIDQ certification, or the ability to obtain it
• Strong capability to develop, explain, and present design ideas to internal teams, clients, and outside vendors or agencies
• Interest in or prior experience with hospitality projects
• Working knowledge of REVIT, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign), Microsoft Office Suite, and similar graphic software
• Solid understanding of materials, finishes, furnishings, and equipment, including selection, procurement, and installation coordination
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• 3 years of experience in AutoCAD
• 3 years of experience in Revit
• 3 years of experience in Interior Design
• 3 years of experience in Adobe InDesign
• 3 years of experience in Adobe Photoshop
• 3 years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite
