Job description
About the Role
We are a recently established church located in a suburban area with a community predominantly of South Asian heritage. Our congregation, planted to reach and connect with young families and the multicultural population, has been developing over several years and officially launched in September 2022.
Key Responsibilities
The appointed worker will inspire, encourage, and enable the entire church to engage with the multicultural community, sharing the message of Jesus. This role includes leading and training a team of volunteers to participate in this vital outreach. The worker will innovate and lead new ministry initiatives focused on young families and individuals from South Asian backgrounds. They will provide leadership in evangelism, discipleship, and pastoral care for various ethnic groups, building relationships with non-churched families through school ministries and community engagement. Collaboration with different local religious groups and the inception of new community ministries are also key duties. Additionally, as part of the staff team, the worker will contribute to planning and executing church services, including leading weekly worship and preaching duties.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a fervent passion for discipleship growth and have a clear understanding of pastoral care tailored to families. They should relate well with South Asian cultural backgrounds and exhibit sound biblical knowledge presented clearly and engagingly. Experience in intercultural ministry and volunteer management is essential alongside a strong grasp of safeguarding policies. Preference will be given to candidates with training or qualifications in Christian or intercultural ministry and experience working with children.
