Insurance Claims Officer

Job Summary

This role focuses on processing insurance claims for patient transfer cases and ensuring that billing, documentation, and insurance records are handled accurately within the organization’s approved systems and the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Health Insurance System.

Key Duties

• Examine daily routine patient transfer cases in the approved system and sort them into critical or non-critical categories using the medical team’s report.
• Create daily insurance claim invoices for both critical and non-critical transfer cases in the approved medical billing platform based on their assigned classification.
• Check patients’ health insurance details and make sure the information is entered correctly into the DHA Health Insurance System.
• Submit insurance claim invoices through the DHA Health Insurance System and include all relevant supporting claim documents.
• Follow up with insurance providers to collect missing or incomplete patient insurance information.
• Adhere to information security requirements, procedures, and operational controls, and promptly escalate any security issue or breach to the direct supervisor.
• Handle additional assignments connected to the division’s work as directed by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Insurance, Business Administration, or a related equivalent discipline.
• For bachelor’s degree holders: no previous experience is needed.
• For diploma holders: at least 5 years of experience in health insurance is required.
