Role Overview

Relocity is hiring an Instructional Designer for a full-time, six-month fixed-term W-2 assignment. The goal of this role is to help establish the foundation for learning and development programs, including onboarding materials, training assets, and scalable learning experiences for both employees and contractors.

This is a practical, build-from-scratch opportunity for someone who enjoys modernizing training content, creating learning journeys from the ground up, and using technology and AI to improve how knowledge is shared at scale. You will work closely with Operations and HR stakeholders to identify learning gaps, design solutions, and produce durable resources that internal teams can continue using after the assignment ends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build scalable onboarding programs for Relocity’s employees and contractors.
  • Design learning paths that strengthen operational readiness and support long-term retention of knowledge.
  • Develop assessments, simulations, job aids, and other tools that reinforce workflows and business processes.
  • Create training that helps users adopt Relocity’s proprietary mobility platform and AI-enabled work processes.
  • Convert older training content into modern digital formats, including video-led and self-serve learning modules.
  • Produce knowledge base articles, FAQs, operational guides, and reusable learning materials.
  • Review learning technologies and recommend solutions that can support future growth and scale.
  • Document frameworks, recommendations, and assets so internal teams can maintain and evolve the learning program after the contract period.

Required Experience and Skills

  • At least 5 years of experience in instructional design, learning and development, learning experience design, enablement, or organizational development.
  • Proven experience creating onboarding programs, training systems, or learning infrastructure from scratch.
  • Solid knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design approaches.
  • Background in building e-learning, video-based learning, and blended learning solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with LMS platforms and digital learning tools.
  • Familiarity with authoring or content tools such as Articulate 360, Synthesia, Google Vids, or similar platforms.
  • Experience using AI tools to support content creation and learning design.
  • Strong project management and consultative abilities.
  • Ability to work with business stakeholders, identify training needs, and turn them into effective learning solutions.
  • Excellent written communication and content development skills.
  • Self-directed approach with the ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality output independently.

Preferred Background

  • Experience in SaaS, HR technology, mobility, hospitality, customer success, or other service-based environments.
  • Experience supporting contractors, contingent workers, or distributed teams.
  • Experience designing simulations, scenario-based learning, or interactive learning experiences.
  • Prior experience in startup or high-growth environments.
  • Exposure to knowledge management, organizational effectiveness, or change management work.

Pay and Employment Details

The hourly pay range for this position is $30 to $45, depending on experience.

This opportunity is a six-month fixed-term assignment and is structured as a W-2 full-time role.
