About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Instructional Assistant who firmly believes that every student is capable of achieving excellence. Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead leveled reading groups to enhance student literacy.
  • Conduct academic assessments to track student progress.
  • Deliver instruction in various math and reading drills utilizing targeted learning strategies to introduce, reinforce, or adjust skills.
  • Supervise and support students during lunch periods and Friday Community Meetings.
  • Engage actively in professional development opportunities to improve school culture and academic practices.
  • Maintain and uphold high behavioral expectations for all students.
  • Implement Equitas Academy’s positive discipline policies effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers throughout the school day in delivering instruction and supervising students.
  • Adhere strictly to policies concerning health, safety, and nutrition standards.
  • Communicate openly with staff members, parents, and other relevant stakeholders to support student success.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by administration.

Required Qualifications

  • Possess an Associate's degree or have completed at least two years of college coursework (minimum 48 units), or successfully pass an internal assessment; a Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Clearance through criminal background check including fingerprinting and TB testing is mandatory.
  • At least six months of experience working with and supervising children.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Obtain current CPR and First Aid certification within three months of employment.

Compensation

The position offers a wage of $22 per hour.
