Job Overview

The Inspector - QA/QC functions as a critical quality assurance professional responsible for inspecting and verifying materials and workmanship throughout multiple stages including material receipt, fabrication, assembly, and testing. This role ensures all processes adhere strictly to project specifications, company standards, and customer demands, thereby upholding quality consistency and traceability to deliver superior project outcomes.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute ongoing and final inspections of fabrication, welding, assembly, and mechanical works aligned with approved drawings, procedures, and specifications.
  • Assess incoming materials, components, and consumables for compliance with quality and specifications; verify material test certificates and uphold traceability.
  • Provide support for pressure tests, non-destructive testing (NDT) activities, and dimensional inspections; ensure all measuring and testing equipment is suitably calibrated and utilized according to established standards.
  • Compile inspection reports, checklists, and non-conformance reports, maintaining detailed QA/QC documentation for traceability and audit readiness.
  • Detect and report any deviations or quality issues to the QA/QC Engineer; assist in root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive measures.
  • Guarantee that all inspection and testing activities follow company QA/QC procedures, project quality plans, and relevant international codes and standards.
  • Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and project teams to convey quality requirements clearly and ensure proper implementation.
  • Partake in inspections of vendors or subcontractors to confirm compliance with quality and technical specifications.
  • Facilitate client and third-party inspections by providing required documentation and ensuring adherence to project quality mandates.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols during inspection operations and confirm conformity with company health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies.

Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) Responsibilities

  • Observe all QHSE standards, policies, and procedures pertinent to assigned tasks.
  • Participate actively in QHSE meetings and successfully complete all mandated safety inductions and training sessions.
  • Identify potential unsafe conditions and report them accordingly; perform corrective measures when possible within the scope of responsibility.
  • Follow directives from QHSE officers and correctly utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and emergency tools.
  • Promote a safe working environment by supporting safety practices personally and encouraging adherence by others.
  • Refer to the OHSMS Manual, Section 4.4.1 for detailed guidance on individual QHSE responsibilities and liabilities.

Educational and Certification Requirements

  • A Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is essential.
  • Possession of NDT Level II certification in UT, RT, PT, or MT is preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • At least 8 years of professional inspection experience within Oil & Gas projects, including a minimum of 5 years specifically in onshore Gas Facilities, with a preference for LNG environments.
  • Familiarity with electrical and instrumentation standards and codes such as IEC, NEC, NFPA, BS, NEMA, NETA, ATEX/IECEX-60079 among others.
  • Hands-on experience conducting inspections during procurement, fabrication, installation, hookup, and commissioning phases of oil and gas production facility projects.
