Role Overview
We invite applications for the role of Inspection Operative at our Skibbereen facility, operating on night shifts. This position is integral to a new department within the company, tasked with ensuring that products meet quality standards through thorough visual inspection on the production line. Proficiency in English is essential to fully comply with health and safety protocols.
Compensation and Schedule
The pay rate for this position is €15.00 per hour with an additional 20% shift premium, resulting in €18.00 per hour total. Work hours are Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct visual checks on products moving along the conveyor belt to identify and eliminate any defects, contamination, or damage.
- Unload product cases safely from delivery containers, ensuring proper handling and stacking to avoid harm.
- Load and unload product cases onto and off the conveyor line efficiently.
- Adhere to the company’s quality control policies and promptly communicate any ongoing product issues or non-conformities to supervisors.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the inspection and conveyor area, ensuring readiness for audits.
- Comply with health and safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe manual handling.
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to maintain smooth production line operations and achieve set targets.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to handle manual tasks and remain standing for long periods in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent attention to detail to quickly and accurately detect product faults.
- Previous work experience within production, warehouse, or food manufacturing environments is preferred.
