Job description
Role overview
Finch Brands is hiring an Insights Strategist to help deliver high-quality research support for clients in its insights community. The role sits at the center of quantitative and qualitative project work, handling research setup, analysis, and the creation of client-ready outputs.
This is a client-facing position supporting 3 to 4 clients at a time, with work spanning a mix of research topics, methodologies, and industries. The work will range from established Fortune 500 organizations to early-stage companies, so the person in this role must be comfortable tailoring research to very different business needs.
Senior teammates will provide backing on client management, strategy, and everyday account coordination. The right candidate will already have hands-on research experience and should be able to work quickly, juggle competing priorities, and adapt as project needs change.
Key responsibilities
- Plan research studies, interpret findings, and build polished deliverables, including questionnaire writing, survey setup, data analysis, and presentation storytelling.
- Support account leadership by producing accurate outputs, strong analysis, and detail-oriented work.
- Own research projects from start to finish while keeping work on schedule, even when deadlines are tight.
- Handle more advanced assignments at the senior strategist level, with greater complexity and broader project exposure.
- At the manager level, work with a higher degree of independence and complete most assignments with minimal supervision.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, marketing, advertising, sociology, statistics, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of market research experience on either the client side or the supplier side.
- Strong command of statistical and research tools such as Excel, SPSS, MarketSight, R, and Q.
- Ability to build and program questionnaires, discussion guides, and other qualitative and quantitative research materials.
- Working knowledge of quantitative methods such as significance testing, crosstabs, banners, nets, weighting, cluster analysis, TURF, and MaxDiff.
- Experience with qualitative coding and analysis.
- Excellent reporting and presentation skills, with strong PowerPoint capability.
- Ability to turn data and insights into clear visuals such as charts, diagrams, and conceptual graphics.
- Strong self-management skills and the ability to prioritize changing demands.
- A business-oriented mindset that connects research outputs to client goals and objectives.
- Interest in exploring fresh and innovative research approaches.
- Genuine curiosity about consumer insights and how they can drive action and business results.
- Comfort managing several research projects at the same time.
Additional information
Senior-level strategists are expected to bring more experience and handle more complex projects. Manager-level strategists are expected to work more autonomously and complete most projects without much oversight.
Eligibility
This opportunity is open to candidates who meet the education and experience requirements and have a background in market research, consumer insights, or a closely related discipline.
