Job description

About the role

This position sits within Google’s Security organization and focuses on making systems safer through strong product security practices. The team safeguards users, developers, and sensitive data by strengthening network boundaries, hardening systems, watching for attacks, and partnering with software engineers to uncover and resolve vulnerabilities.

The Singapore-based team is being built to expand operational scale and reduce risk through automation and remediation. In this role, you will combine technical depth with cross-functional collaboration, acting both as a builder and a reviewer to help manage complex security issues and improve security operations.

The broader Core team is responsible for the technical foundations behind Google’s major products, including design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure. Its work helps remove technical barriers, strengthen systems, and influence important technical decisions across the company.

Minimum qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent level of practical experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience with security assessments, security design reviews, or threat modeling.
  • At least 1 year of experience in security engineering, computer and network security, and security protocols.
  • At least 1 year of coding experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages.

Preferred qualifications

  • Background in building or deploying automated tools, including large language model-based agents, for security tasks such as triage automation or fixing bugs.
  • Experience working across functions or across multiple products.
  • Experience advising on security and security protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Create agents and supporting infrastructure that automate vulnerability handling, triage, and variant analysis to reduce manual effort.
  • Help build a consolidated vulnerability analysis pipeline and dashboarding solution that surfaces insights into new and emerging threats.
  • Take part in the Singapore triage and remediation rotation, including reproducing vulnerabilities, assessing severity, and filing bugs for incoming security reports.

Additional information

Applicants who already have the legal right to work in Singapore will be prioritized. Candidates who would require visa sponsorship from Google are not the intended focus for this role.

Equal opportunity

Google states that it is an equal opportunity workplace and affirmative action employer. Employment decisions are made without regard to race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, or veteran status. Qualified applicants with criminal histories are also considered in line with legal requirements.
