Role Overview

The aim is to improve interoperability, minimize duplication, and maintain consistent data alignment for effective planning and coordinated response efforts.

Key Duties

  • Assist in consolidating data inputs and compiling situation reports (sitreps) for the Humanitarian Inter-Sector Coordination Group to enhance overall information flow and data complementarity.
  • Facilitate responsible sharing of humanitarian data systems while linking with development coordination frameworks like the National Development Strategy 2, supporting coherence and integrated decision-making.
  • Create and regularly maintain a basic Information Management System (IMS) framework accessible across humanitarian coordination platforms.
  • Develop a Data Management Exit Strategy with clear handover plans for transitioning humanitarian data systems to development coordination entities to ensure continuity and sustainability.
  • Carry out any other tasks assigned by supervisory personnel.

Volunteering and Engagement

Volunteers are encouraged to promote the UN Volunteers programme's mandate by engaging with community volunteer activities, enhancing personal knowledge of volunteerism, supporting newly arrived volunteers, contributing to UNV publications, and fostering online volunteering opportunities locally.

Expected Deliverables

  • Development and periodic update of an IMS framework that supports consistent data sharing between sectors.
  • A well-defined Data Management Exit Strategy that facilitates smooth transitions to development partners.
  • Promotion of sustained information management practices aligned with national priorities for better evidence-driven planning.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management Systems, Computer Science, Business IT, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum of one year of professional experience in managing IMS within humanitarian or development contexts.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with experience in report writing and document preparation.
  • Proven interpersonal skills with cultural awareness and ability to collaborate effectively with government bodies, UN agencies, NGOs, and communities.
  • Adaptability and resilience in challenging multicultural environments.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of coordination frameworks, dashboard creation, and infographic systems, especially in post-transition or resilience-building environments.
  • Experience conducting workshops or sessions to foster data harmonization and interoperability.
  • Ability to contribute productively within team settings to achieve shared objectives.
