The Inclusion Teacher will support Students of Determination (SEND) and gifted learners by providing targeted support that helps them access and progress through the British curriculum in a setting aligned with the school’s inclusive, research-led, and future-focused vision. The role includes delivering individualised education plans, adapting teaching approaches, and providing in-class or small-group interventions to meet a range of learning needs. With access to specialist tools, assistive technology, and external partnerships, the teacher will work alongside classroom teachers, counsellors, and school leaders to create an inclusive environment. The position may also involve helping train staff and working with outside specialists. In addition, the role includes liaising with parents and external professionals to support each student’s learning and wellbeing in a meaningful and equitable way.

Responsibilities

• Support Students of Determination and gifted pupils with tailored interventions that help them access the British curriculum and make appropriate progress.
• Plan and implement individualised education plans and differentiated strategies based on learner needs.
• Deliver support through classroom-based assistance as well as pull-out interventions where required.
• Collaborate with teachers, counsellors, and leadership to strengthen inclusion across the school.
• Contribute to staff development and work with external specialists when needed.
• Maintain regular communication with parents and outside experts to ensure coordinated support for students.
• Promote a learning environment where all students can participate fully and experience equitable outcomes.

Requirements

• A UK-approved inclusion-related qualification for work with children and young people in schools, such as a Master’s in Special Educational Needs or Inclusion, together with a relevant PGCE.
• At least 3 years of experience as an inclusion leader in an international, high-performing school.
• Experience in a through-school setting serving ages 3 to 18 is preferred.
• A proven history of improving inclusion provision in a school environment.
• Current understanding of best practice in inclusion and up-to-date policy knowledge across the UAE, the UK, and internationally.
• Preferred knowledge of KHDA inclusion guidance, UAE education policy, and effective inclusive education practices.
• Experience managing IEPs, interventions, and multi-tiered support systems for diverse learners.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills for working with parents, leaders, and external partners.
• Familiarity with assistive technology, Universal Design for Learning, and evidence-based intervention methods.
• A commitment to research-led, future-oriented, student-centred education.
• A genuine passion for inclusion and equity, with a focus on helping all students succeed in a challenging but supportive setting.
• A reflective, growth-oriented, and solutions-focused mindset.
• Willingness to contribute positively to the wider school community through extracurricular activities and community events.
• UK-enhanced DBS clearance or an equivalent police check is required as part of safeguarding procedures.
