Importation Operations Specialist (12-Month Contract)

The Pacific Operations team within Worldwide Sales & Operations Support ensures the seamless execution of Apple's supply chain across the Pacific region, fulfilling millions of orders from Greater China, North East Asia, South Asia, and Australia-New Zealand by delivering the right products to customers at the right time.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily importation operations of bulk freight including air, ocean, and trucking shipments with third-party vendors, handling approvals, issue resolution, purchase requisition/order management, invoicing, and vendor performance evaluation.
• Act as the subject-matter expert for bulk freight importation compliance and procedures in Indonesia (including Preferential Tariff, TPP, PI, PSI) and Vietnam (including VNTA, cultural licenses).
• Partner with Procurement to ensure alignment on contracts and commercial aspects with third-party vendors.
• Manage and troubleshoot regulatory documentation and access for external vendors—such as certificates, test reports, product and technical specifications, and Power of Attorney documents—in collaboration with internal Apple teams.
• Support importation requirements during New Product Introduction cycles by identifying process needs and coordinating stakeholders regarding risks and implications.
• Collaborate across functions to assist with authority inquiries, audits, and operational reporting.
• Contribute as a subject matter expert on projects by translating business needs into system configurations and suggesting improvements to processes or systems that enhance supply chain efficiency and customer satisfaction; participate actively in User Acceptance Testing phases.
• Promote continuous improvement by incorporating AI/ML, generative AI, and intelligent automation technologies into importation workflows.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or trade compliance roles.
• Experience managing import operations specifically in Indonesia and/or Vietnam.
• Strong skills in vendor and stakeholder management, capable of coordinating across multiple teams.
• Familiarity with SAP or equivalent enterprise systems; advantageous to have experience with data analysis tools such as Tableau, Python, or SQL.
• Additional knowledge of importation markets in other South-East Asian countries is a plus.
• Self-motivated with eagerness to learn, able to independently handle multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
