Import Pricing Executive for Leading Shipping Company

Role overview

This position sits within a leading shipping environment and focuses on import pricing for air and ocean freight. The role requires building and managing freight quotations, monitoring market movements, and coordinating closely with internal and external logistics partners to keep shipments moving smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Source freight rates from shipping lines based on customer requirements.
• Review market changes and adjust pricing gaps to stay competitive.
• Prepare freight quotes for consignments across Gulf, Far East, USA, Europe, and Africa lanes according to tariff structures and update the rates in the system.
• Work with freight forwarders, operations teams, NVOCCs, and liners to ensure each shipment is processed without disruption.
• Track customer engagement patterns and use them to shape pricing decisions.
• Partner with sales and marketing teams to design and execute competitive pricing approaches.
• Stay current with pricing methods, market practices, and broader industry trends.
• Compile pricing analysis and share findings with executives and marketing teams.

Candidate profile

The ideal applicant should bring 4 to 8 years of experience, with strong exposure to key customer handling, negotiation, customer discussions, fast response management, and quotation handling. Hands-on expertise in import air and ocean pricing is essential. Candidates should come from a freight forwarding background and be able to manage demanding enquiries with confidence.
