Role Overview
This is a full-time, on-site position in Beaumont, Alberta. The Immigration Specialist evaluates client profiles, determines eligibility under relevant Canadian immigration programs, and recommends suitable pathways. The role includes preparing and filing applications and supporting documents, tracking case progress, answering client questions in a timely and professional way, and keeping current with immigration policy and legal updates. The specialist must also maintain precise records, coordinate with internal team members and outside stakeholders when required, and manage several cases at once while preserving accuracy, discretion, and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review client information and assess eligibility for appropriate Canadian immigration pathways.
- Guide clients on the most suitable immigration options based on their circumstances.
- Prepare, organize, and submit applications along with all required supporting documents.
- Monitor application status and follow up on case progress as needed.
- Respond to client queries clearly, promptly, and professionally.
- Stay informed about updates to immigration laws, policies, and procedures.
- Keep accurate and confidential case records.
- Work with internal colleagues and external contacts to move files forward efficiently.
- Handle multiple active cases while maintaining a high level of accuracy and compliance.
Qualifications
Applicants should have strong knowledge of immigration matters and hands-on experience managing different types of cases. Significant experience with LMIA applications is preferred. A solid understanding of immigration policy and law, especially as it relates to Canadian federal and provincial programs, is important. Experience with global immigration and cross-border cases is also valuable. Candidates should be comfortable handling visa-related documentation and compliance requirements.
Additional Requirements
A post-secondary background in law, immigration studies, public policy, or a similar discipline is preferred. A recognized immigration practitioner certification or license is considered an advantage. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to explain complex information in a respectful and easy-to-understand way to diverse clients. The role also requires excellent organization, attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure, and comfort using office software and case management systems. Candidates must be able to manage confidential information responsibly and demonstrate a commitment to fairness, non-discriminatory practices, and culturally sensitive service.
