Your Role

As a visual artist, you will bring stories to life through sketches, designs, and graphic creations. You will be involved from initial concept to producing final, high-quality assets. Working in tandem with writers, producers, and the creative team, you will help construct captivating worlds beloved by families.

Key Responsibilities

• Create concept art, illustrations, and digital design assets according to creative briefs.
• Sketch characters, settings, icons, infographics, and other visuals that enrich storytelling.
• Apply diverse artistic styles across mediums, from fast rough drafts to detailed, polished digital outputs.
• Provide artwork for a variety of applications including corporate collaborations and comics.
• Utilize colors, textures, and linework to convey specific moods and atmospheres.
• Perform quality checks on artwork to ensure print accuracy, color fidelity, panel arrangement, and overall quality.
• Maintain consistency and continuity by adhering to established art standards and style guides.
• Refine artwork based on creative input while meeting tight deadlines.
• Contribute to the ongoing growth of multiple family-centered brands.
• Manage your assignments and schedules using our project management tools, keeping detailed notes and regular updates.

Candidate Profile

Mandatory Qualifications

• A compelling portfolio demonstrating relevant skills and completed projects.
• Must be located in Melbourne and able to work onsite at our Collingwood headquarters.
• Creative aptitude with strong drawing capabilities and a talent for interpreting briefs effectively.
• Ability to adapt art style to fit brand identities.
• Solid grasp of artistic basics including composition, color theory, perspective, typography, layout, and visual hierarchy.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience using MacBooks paired with drawing tablets.
• Capability to produce drawings promptly while accepting direction and constructive feedback gracefully.

Desirable Attributes

• Interest in leveraging emerging technologies to streamline repetitive tasks like briefing and mockups.
• Familiarity with product design workflows, animation, cartooning, sketching, or comic art styles.
