Mercor, a company connecting top creative and technical talent to pioneering AI research organizations, seeks a Special Education Expert to join their team on a contract basis. This remote position offers compensation ranging from $850 to $1,000 per completed task and involves working alongside AI research labs to improve special education tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and critique AI-generated content focused on writing Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, recommending accommodations, and developing behavioral intervention plans.
- Develop accurate and practical scenarios reflecting special education procedures such as IEP meeting documentation and transition planning processes.
- Perform data annotation, labeling, and validation tasks ensuring compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and alignment with appropriate educational goals.
- Provide clear, structured evaluations of AI accuracy concerning federal and state special education regulations and evidence-supported interventions.
- Work asynchronously with research teams to enhance the evaluation methods applied to special education-based AI systems.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of three years of professional experience within special education fields.
- Experience in classroom instruction for special education, coordinating IEPs, or applied behavior analysis practice.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate individualized student support procedures into structured evaluation exercises.
- Exceptional written communication abilities coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Possession of credentials such as Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), licensure as a special education teacher, or certification as a school psychologist.
