Position Overview

The role of LV SWGR SKIDS (Switchgear) Product Manager IEC encompasses gathering and analyzing customer requirements, assessing market and regulatory trends, developing product roadmaps and strategies, leading presales activities, and collaborating with internal teams to drive growth and innovation. This role works closely with EMEA regional and functional teams, as well as other IEC regions globally, to meet financial and sales targets. The manager supervises research and development priorities, product costing, design, pricing methods, and resource allocation within a global matrixed switchgear product line organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of the LV SWGR SKIDS IEC products, covering hardware, configuration software, and startup services offered by the EMEA Vertiv Service Team, coordinating similar efforts globally.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to foster innovation and product development, including technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Services, Edge Computing, and tailored solutions for the general data center market; also targeting growth in the broader EMEA commercial and industrial sectors.
  • Develop and enable global market channels to support commercial success, aligning with regional partners' businesses and leveraging Vertiv’s global manufacturing footprint.
  • Support supply chain enablement for competitive delivery across business regions with specific focus on EMEA's supply base, including third-party suppliers.
  • Conduct competitive analysis within the IEC EMEA market, exploring technological and partnership opportunities and performing make-versus-buy evaluations.
  • Spot emerging market opportunities driven by technological applications in cloud, colocation, enterprise data centers, and electrification developments especially within the EMEA region; also consider trends in Asia.
  • Facilitate development and updating of tools such as product configurators, content creation, and data management to empower customers, partners, and stakeholders, enhancing profitability.
  • Oversee list pricing and pricing management for LV SWGR SKID configurators, coordinating with EMEA cost managers and finance teams.
  • Establish trusted advisor relationships with customers and partners in target segments, actively participating in industry groups influencing codes and standards.
  • Lead technical input and specification setting for new product developments at both product and system levels.
  • Champion identification, prototyping, and validation of design improvements enhancing system lifecycle performance, including considerations for configuration, logistics, assembly, commissioning, operation, end-of-life support, circular economy, and environmental health and safety.
  • Coordinate with Marketing Communications to develop technical literature and support regional marketing activities such as trade shows.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering preferred or equivalent experience in product engineering, manufacturing, or marketing.
  • MBA is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Proven experience in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing Operations with demonstrated ability to work across cross-functional teams.
  • Adaptability to change and commitment to continuous improvement methods.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel; familiarity with Smartsheet and Power BI is advantageous.
  • Capability to engage with customers at both executive and technical levels.
  • Experience leading cross-functional meetings and delivering presentations in person and via platforms like Microsoft Teams or Zoom.
  • Familiarity with New Product Development Introduction (NPDI) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).
  • A demonstrated passion for learning and curiosity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comfort with working independently.
  • Track record of introducing new processes to established organizations.
  • Strong problem-solving, data analysis, and project management skills.
  • Hands-on experience with IEC 61439-2 Low Voltage Electrical Apparatus (below 600V).
  • Direct knowledge of low voltage electrical components such as circuit breakers, transformers, metering, and arc flash mitigation equipment.
  • In-depth understanding of the construction market and expertise in marketing modular skid solutions as alternatives to traditional stick-built systems.
