Role Overview

The Human Resources Specialist position is full-time and requires onsite presence in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area. This role involves managing daily HR functions such as recruiting, interviewing, onboarding clinical and administrative staff, and ensuring alignment with Autizum's mission and standards. Responsibilities include maintaining employee records, supporting payroll and benefits processes, ensuring compliance with labor regulations and policies, and acting as a point of contact for employee inquiries.

Additional duties include coordinating training and development programs, aiding performance management activities, preparing HR reports, promoting diversity and inclusion initiatives, and fostering a positive workplace environment that reflects the organization's support for both staff and families.

Qualifications

  • Practical experience managing key HR activities including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and administrative tasks.
  • Understanding of employment law, HR compliance, and maintaining confidential, accurate employee records.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills capable of supporting all staff levels.
  • Familiarity with HR information systems, applicant tracking software, and common office applications like MS Office or Google Workspace.
  • Ability to collaborate with clinical teams and comprehend staffing needs within healthcare or behavioral health contexts.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally competent workplace practices.
  • Strong organization and time management, with keen attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field is required; HR certifications such as SHRM-CP or PHR are advantageous.
  • Previous experience in healthcare, behavioral health, education, or autism-related services is beneficial but not mandatory.
