Job description

Role overview

This position supports human resources and payroll activities for a luxury hospitality property in Doha. The role focuses on hiring coordination, employee records, HR administration, communication with staff and managers, and maintaining compliance with relevant laws, company standards, and internal procedures.

Recruitment and hiring support

  • Track recruitment activity and make sure hiring practices follow local, state, and federal requirements along with company policies.
  • Help employees with internal and external transfer requests and related paperwork.
  • Support managers and supervisors throughout the recruitment process and help resolve hiring-related concerns.
  • Arrange applicant screenings such as drug tests, reference checks, background checks, motor vehicle checks, and social security number verification according to company procedure.
  • Keep logs for applicants, drug screening, orientation, and transfer requests up to date.
  • Share the documents new hires need to complete on their first day, including materials needed for employment verification.

New hire onboarding

  • Set up and maintain new-hire files and enter employee details in PeopleSoft.
  • Create personnel files for new employees.
  • Support orientation sessions for new team members.
  • Provide training to new hires on HR policies, programs, systems, and processes.

Payroll and compensation support

  • Assist with payroll record processing and upkeep in line with company rules and procedures when needed.

HR administration and records

  • Protect the confidentiality and security of employee and property records, files, and information.
  • Maintain complete and accurate employee files, including interview paperwork, I-9 records, references, drug-free workplace documentation, applicant self-identification forms, and orientation checklists.
  • Answer telephone calls and record messages.
  • Draft office correspondence using a computer and maintain organized filing systems.
  • Prepare human resources reports as requested.
  • Act as a knowledgeable HR resource and contribute to project teams.

Employee relations and communication

  • Respond to employee and management questions about HR programs, policies, guidelines, requests, and concerns.
  • Escalate employee-relations matters to HR leadership when needed.
  • Display required legal and regulatory HR notices where employees can easily see them.
  • Support managers and the leadership team in resolving HR issues.

Policies, conduct, and workplace standards

  • Protect confidential and proprietary information at all times.
  • Follow company and department procedures carefully.
  • Respect the privacy and security of guests and colleagues.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, including uniform, name tag, grooming, and hygiene standards.
  • Carry out additional reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.

  • Communicate clearly by speaking, listening, reading, writing, proofreading, and editing workplace documents.
  • Discuss work matters discreetly and away from public guest areas when appropriate.
  • Work cooperatively with colleagues and treat everyone with dignity and respect.

  • Build positive working relationships and contribute to teamwork and shared goals.
