Job description
Role Overview
This is a full-time, non-management pastry position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within the Food & Beverage and Culinary function. The role is part of a luxury hospitality environment and is focused on preparing high-quality pastry and cold food items according to brand recipes, presentation expectations, and food preparation checklists.
Key Duties
- Prepare specialty items and any required substitutes as needed.
- Control and adjust cooking equipment such as ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters to maintain proper temperatures.
- Move frozen ingredients into refrigeration for safe thawing.
- Plate food with the correct portion size, arrangement, and garnish standards.
- Keep accurate food logs and track food quality and quantity during preparation.
- Coordinate with the team when extra support is needed during peak periods.
- Notify the chef about surplus ingredients that can be used in daily specials.
- Update service staff on daily specials and items that are unavailable.
- Check that all food served meets the required quality standards.
- Prepare and cook menu items in line with recipes, quality benchmarks, presentation rules, and production checklists.
- Make cold dishes as required.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support management in hiring, onboarding, training, scheduling, evaluating, coaching, counseling, disciplining, and motivating team members.
- Act as a positive example for others on the team.
- Follow company policies, safety rules, and security procedures at all times.
- Report maintenance issues, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions promptly.
- Complete required safety training and certifications.
- Maintain a neat, professional appearance and follow uniform standards.
- Protect confidential and proprietary company information.

- Anticipate guest needs and respond in a professional manner.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with colleagues and supervisors.

- Be able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods.
- Perform physical tasks such as reaching, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Lift, carry, push, pull, and place items up to 25 pounds without assistance.
- Carry out other duties assigned by supervisors.
Preferred Qualification
The employer prefers candidates with a Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree and at least 3 years of relevant work experience. No supervisory background is required, and no license or certification is listed as mandatory.
