Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Human Resources Director to oversee comprehensive HR operations within the organization. This senior role will handle all aspects of HR—from payroll and benefits management to compliance and employee relations—and act as a strategic advisor to department leaders and executive management. It is well-suited for dynamic HR professionals passionate about playing a pivotal role in shaping HR strategy at a growing company.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer the company’s 401(k) and employee benefit plans, including processing election changes and life event updates.
- Review and evaluate benefit plans annually and offer renewal recommendations.
- Manage Workers' Compensation cases and related administration.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws through ongoing audits.
- Create, update, and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Handle responses to tax agency notices and reporting requirements at all government levels.
- Lead workplace safety and health programs.
- Address employee grievances and oversee employee relations activities.
- Facilitate employee performance reviews and communications.
- Support the creation and deployment of training programs.
- Design compensation frameworks and establish pay grades across departments.
- Drive initiatives aimed at enhancing employee engagement and satisfaction.
- Collaborate regularly with department heads and executives on HR strategies and organizational goals.
- Perform other HR-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field required; Master’s degree and/or professional HR certifications (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) are preferred.
- At least 7 to 10 years of comprehensive HR experience or equivalent training.
- Thorough knowledge of California employment laws and compliance standards.
- Experience in the commercial real estate or hospitality sectors is advantageous.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong business insight with the capacity to think strategically and implement practical solutions.
- High confidentiality and discretion handling sensitive matters.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities effectively within a fast-paced environment.
- Dependable, customer service-driven with a flexible and solution-focused mindset.
Compensation & Equal Opportunity
