About the Role

A dynamic multi-location healthcare organization is looking for a dedicated Human Resources Business Partner to support staff and leadership within a diverse and evolving environment. This role is ideal for an HR professional who has developed broad experience and is poised to take on more responsibility related to employee experience, managerial support, workforce challenges, and daily HR operations. The individual will adeptly balance strategic initiatives with immediate employee needs, tackling issues with urgency, sound judgment, and practicality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a primary HR contact and resource for employees and managers at assigned locations and departments.
  • Guide managers in handling employee relations matters including performance, attendance, conflicts, and disciplinary actions.
  • Conduct timely and objective workplace investigations collaborating with HR leadership and legal counsel as necessary.
  • Ensure consistent application of policies while considering organizational goals and individual circumstances.
  • Promote open communication, responsibility, and respectful conduct throughout the workplace.
  • Identify trends in employee relations and recommend effective operational or leadership interventions.
  • Assist management with performance management processes including goal setting, reviews, coaching, and development plans.
  • Support talent identification, succession planning, employee engagement, retention, and recognition programs.
  • Partner with managers to enhance team performance, clarify expectations, and foster accountability.
  • Manage workforce changes including transitions, reporting adjustments, and new initiatives.
  • Oversee the entire employee lifecycle from onboarding through promotions to separations, ensuring smooth HR support.
  • Collaborate with hiring teams to clarify staffing needs, improve candidate selection, and enhance recruitment consistency.
  • Work with payroll and benefits to promptly resolve employee inquiries and maintain accurate information.
  • Support leave administration and accommodation processes aligned with policies and legal compliance.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.
  • Update HR policies, procedures, job descriptions, and tools as organizational needs evolve.
  • Develop strong partnerships with clinical, operational, and corporate leaders across multiple sites, understanding their workforce needs and risks.
  • Monitor staffing levels, turnover, attendance, vacancies, and analyze workforce data to inform decisions.
  • Facilitate integration of new teams and locations during organizational expansion.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives aimed at culture, communication, compliance, and growth.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws in everyday HR decisions.
  • Maintain confidentiality for sensitive employee and organizational information.
  • Continuously assess HR processes to identify and recommend improvements.
  • Support audits, reporting, policy reviews, and compliance activities as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Minimum four years of progressive HR experience in generalist, employee relations, business partner, or HR operations roles.
  • Experience in healthcare environments such as physician practices, ambulatory care, or hospital operations is essential.
  • Comprehensive understanding of employee relations, performance management, investigations, onboarding, leave policies, and employment law.
  • Proven ability to counsel managers through complex and sensitive employee issues.
  • Experience supporting multiple departments or locations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with practical solutions implementation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills suitable for interacting with all organizational levels.
  • Good judgement, discretion, organizational skills, and persistence.
  • Availability to work onsite in Houston, TX, three days per week, with two days remote.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership or related field, preferably with an HR focus.
  • Experience with multi-site or multi-state healthcare organizations.
  • Familiarity with HR information systems, applicant tracking, and employee data analysis tools.
  • Experience supporting organizational growth activities such as acquisitions or clinic integrations.
  • Professional HR certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP.

Additional Information

The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, energy, curiosity, and a proactive approach to resolving HR challenges. Building trust with employees and leaders, maintaining composure during difficult workplace situations, and supporting a comprehensive range of HR functions rather than a narrow focus are key to success.

Success metrics for the first year include establishing trusted relationships, elevating manager support response quality, thorough employee relations resolution, enhanced performance management, identifying workforce trends with actionable recommendations, refining HR processes and communication, and aiding organizational growth without compromising employee experience or compliance.

Compensation and Benefits

The role offers an anticipated base salary range of $90,000 to $100,000 depending on qualifications and experience. The organization provides company-sponsored benefits, paid time off, and additional programs to eligible employees with detailed information shared during the interview process.

Equal Employment Opportunity

The employer is an equal opportunity provider, ensuring all employees and applicants are considered without regard to protected characteristics including race, gender, pregnancy, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, or other protected statuses. Reasonable accommodations are offered throughout the hiring and employment process for qualified individuals.
