Role Overview

The Human Resources Business Partner position is a full-time, on-site role at Yale University in the United States. The primary responsibility is to act as a strategic advisor to both academic and administrative units, aligning HR initiatives with the university's goals and culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support workforce planning and talent management aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Provide advice on employee relations and navigate complex HR issues.
  • Collaborate with leaders on performance management and facilitate talent development initiatives.
  • Drive organizational change efforts in partnership with various stakeholders.
  • Interpret and implement HR policies, labor laws, and ensure compliance with university standards.
  • Work alongside central HR teams on recruitment and retention strategies.
  • Analyze HR data and reports to guide informed decision-making.
  • Facilitate training programs and development opportunities for staff enhancement.
  • Promote and support an inclusive and equitable workplace culture.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Proven experience in HR partnership roles encompassing talent, performance, and organizational development.
  • Expertise in employee relations, conflict resolution, and complex HR issue management.
  • Ability to interpret and apply HR policies and labor legislation within a large organization.
  • Skills in HR data analytics, reporting, and familiarity with HRIS systems.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal abilities to foster collaboration among diverse groups.
  • Capacity to juggle multiple priorities, exercise discretion, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion, sustaining a respectful and accessible workplace.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or similar field; advanced degrees or certifications like SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR are preferable.
  • Experience in higher education or similarly complex mission-driven organizations is advantageous.
