Job Summary
This role involves working onsite and collaborating in person up to five days each week, subject to adjustments according to business needs. WestJet, a leading Canadian airline since 1996, invites you to join their dynamic and respected corporate culture as a Human Resource Business Partnering Coordinator on a 12-month contract. The position demands high levels of accuracy, strong technological skills, passion for systems and process improvements, and the ability to manage data within HR functions using various software tools, especially with HRIS platforms such as Dayforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a centralized intake process for handling general inquiries aimed at the Business Partnering team.
- Serve as the core coordinator for position management through the HRIS system and handle related administrative duties.
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of HRIS data while supporting automated HR workflows and processes.
- Assist the team by creating letters, maintaining employee files, and managing SharePoint content.
- Support HR Business Partners (HRBPs) by reviewing and updating Leader Hub content to ensure relevance and alignment with leadership needs.
- Develop, review, and improve HRBP team processes and documentation, covering areas such as performance management, terminations, investigations, and employee relations activities.
- Coordinate placement activities for Total and Permanent Disability (TPD) and permanent accommodations alongside Employee Health, Talent Acquisition, and HRBPs.
- Prepare, monitor, and distribute various human resource reports and metrics.
- Ensure HR templates, documentation, and records are accurate, up-to-date, and retained appropriately.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders including People team colleagues, Legal, Corporate Security, Labour Relations, Communications, and business leaders.
- Identify and implement opportunities for enhancing HR processes, documentation, reporting, and team effectiveness using technology and continuous improvement strategies.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Completion of a Human Resources certificate, diploma, or degree.
- Between three to five years of experience working in Human Resources.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, notably Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated experience handling HR systems (HRIS), employee data management, reporting, and system-driven HR processes.
- Experience with Dayforce HRIS is highly preferred.
- Quick learner with a strong aptitude for acquiring new software, tools, and technology.
- Proven capability to prioritize, adapt to shifting demands, and perform effectively in a fast-paced and complex environment.
- Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholder needs amid competing priorities.
- Understanding of WestJet policies and procedures is a plus.
- Background in performance and ability management.
- Highly detail-oriented with proven skills in planning and conducting meetings.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and handle stressful scenarios steadily.
- CPHR designation or progression toward it is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Canadian Labour Code is considered an asset.
- Strong customer service skills for internal stakeholders.
- Maintains confidentiality, exercises diplomacy, and uses sound judgment.
