About the Role
We are an internationally recognized leader in testing, inspection, and certification services, maintaining a reputation for quality, sustainability, and integrity with a broad global network. We seek a dedicated HSE Officer to join our project team in Dubai to foster a robust safety culture onsite. This role involves applying health, safety, and environmental policies, ensuring adherence to project and client standards, and compliance with UAE regulations, all in support of successful project execution.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee daily site operations to verify alignment with HSE legislation, client specifications, and internal policies.
- Perform routine site inspections, identify hazards, conduct risk evaluations, and execute safety audits.
- Lead safety inductions, deliver toolbox talks, and run safety awareness programs.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and hazards, compiling comprehensive reports with corrective recommendations.
- Manage HSE documentation including records, registers, and reports.
- Assist supervisors and subcontractors in enforcing safe work procedures.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to site safety protocols.
- Participate in emergency preparedness including planning, drills, and response coordination.
- Engage with clients, contractors, consultants, and authorities on HSE-related issues.
- Contribute to the preparation and review of Risk Assessments, Job Safety Analyses, Safe Work Method Statements, and related documents.
- Drive ongoing improvements in health, safety, and environmental performance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Holds NEBOSH International General Certificate or a comparable recognized international HSE certification.
- Possesses at least five years of relevant onsite HSE experience within the UAE/GCC region, ideally in construction, infrastructure, industrial, or utility sectors.
- Thorough understanding of UAE HSE laws, industry standards, and best practices.
- Proven expertise in conducting site inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and compliance monitoring.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal; Arabic skills are beneficial.
- Excellent organizational, reporting, and interpersonal capabilities.
- Competent in Microsoft Office suite.
- Preferably holds a valid UAE driving license.
