Key Responsibilities

  • Advise contractors on essential safety precautions, protective standards, and potential improvements in current work methods.
  • Offer expertise to develop safe work systems and procedures ensuring a secure working environment for clients.
  • Identify and evaluate hazards, risks, and control strategies for specific operations or processes.
  • Perform safety audits and inspections on ongoing projects to assess safety program effectiveness and compliance with standards; develop and implement emergency response plans.
  • Conduct safety training and education for employees, including inductions, internal training, and toolbox talks.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to establish causes and recommend preventive measures, preparing detailed incident investigation reports.
  • Ensure inspection of tools and machinery, coordinating with third-party inspections where necessary, along with contractor safety teams.
  • Analyze working environments, tools, and machinery to detect potential hazards affecting employees or the public.
  • Support and contribute to road safety initiatives aligned with UAE traffic rules and regulations.
  • Review Health and Safety Management System documents such as tender reviews, prequalification assessments, HSE manuals, site safety procedures, plans, records, method statements, and risk assessments.
  • Prepare data for management review meetings, discuss with clients, and set contractor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Conduct regular HSE inspections of sites/projects, submit action plan reports to operations for issue resolution, and provide guidance to contractor HSE teams.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or degree in any relevant field.
  • At least 6 years of experience in safety roles within oil and gas EPC or construction sectors.
  • Professional certifications including NOBOSH IGC, IOSH Managing Safety, EMS Lead Auditor ISO 14001, Registered OHSMS Generalist OSHAD.
  • Preferred certifications in construction safety such as ISO 45001 Lead Auditor.
  • Proficiency in EMS Lead Auditor ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 2007 Lead Auditing.
