Role overview

The HSE Officer will help maintain a safe, compliant site by putting health and safety procedures into practice, carrying out inspections, and making sure work activities follow the required standards and regulations. The position works closely with project teams to identify hazards, reduce risks, enforce safety measures, and strengthen safety awareness across the site.

Core responsibilities

• Track site operations and document any unsafe behaviour, conditions, or breaches of safety requirements.
• Carry out both planned and unplanned daily inspections to spot unsafe work methods, hazardous conditions, and defective tools or equipment, then record findings through the Action Notice system.
• Work with supervisors and site staff to guide them on meeting HSE obligations.
• Check that employees are using the correct personal protective equipment.
• Support monthly HSE dashboard inspections, either independently or alongside other team members.
• Assist with DSTI and toolbox talk communications.
• Escalate serious or urgent HSE issues immediately to the project HSE Manager or HSE Lead.
• Contribute to safety awareness activities such as HSE campaigns, incentive programmes, safety meetings, fire and evacuation drills, and other related initiatives.
• Help with accident and incident investigations.
• Inspect subcontractor activities and record deviations in the Action Notice system.

Qualifications and experience

This opportunity is open to candidates with 0–2 years of HSE experience. A degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or another relevant discipline is required. Candidates must also be registered with the Occupational Safety and Health professionals’ programme from the Human Resources and Social Development authority in KSA as either a professional or practitioner.

Additional HSE training

• NEBOSH IGC is preferred.
• OSHA 30 Hours is preferred.
• Training in First Aid, CPR, and AED is preferred.
• Emergency response training is preferred.
• Firefighting training is preferred.

Skills and working requirements

• Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer use.
• High standards of integrity and professionalism.
• Comfort working outdoors every day in a safety-focused role.
• Confidence in handling conflict and difficult situations effectively.
