Mermec Deutschland GmbH serves as the German subsidiary within the MERMEC Group, collaborating internationally on railway signaling and digitalization projects, mainly focusing on the DACH region.

Role Overview

We seek a QHSE Specialist to support and enhance quality, health, safety, and environmental processes within Mermec Deutschland. Your responsibilities will include implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving QHSE management systems across operations and projects. You will ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations, fostering a culture of quality and safety throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of the Integrated Management System.
  • Support ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certification processes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental laws.
  • Coordinate communications and collaboration with site management, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with HSE management at headquarters and participate in site inspections, risk assessments, and operational improvement actions.
  • Lead incident investigations and ensure timely HSE reporting.
  • Organize and deliver HSE communication, training, and awareness programs.
  • Promote a proactive safety and environmental culture throughout the company.
  • Establish and maintain Project Quality Systems including quality plans and procedures.
  • Support project managers throughout project lifecycles and assist in defining project structures and plans.
  • Interface collaboratively with customers, partners, suppliers, and third parties on quality matters.
  • Manage customer complaints and support technical teams during design and development reviews.
  • Conduct internal audits and supplier audits as needed.

Candidate Profile

  • Completed education or training related to occupational safety, environmental management, and quality assurance.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing quality and HSE in project environments, preferably within complex sectors like aeronautics or railways.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint and Office suite.
  • Experience with internal and supplier audit methodologies.
  • Thorough understanding of German safety and environmental regulations.
  • Fluency in both German and English languages.
  • Autonomous and methodical work approach with excellent communication and organizational skills.

Additional Information

  • Travel requirements are occasional, approx. 1 to 5 short trips per year lasting up to three working days.
