Job description
About the Company
XXXLdigital is the digital unit of the XXXL Group, focused on creating impact through online commerce and connected retail. The team works across the full e-commerce value chain, from product presentation in web shops to customer experience enhancement and digital marketing execution. The company’s goal is to deliver a smooth omnichannel shopping journey and strengthen its position as a leading furniture and home furnishing retailer through both online stores and physical locations. The organization values authenticity and diversity, and aims to provide an environment where people can grow and use their potential fully.
Role Overview
This position is based in Berlin and Würzburg and is a full-time role. It centers on operational HR support across the employee lifecycle, process quality, and close coordination with key internal partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of HR administration throughout the entire employee lifecycle and prepare legally compliant HR documents aligned with internal standards.
- Track important HR deadlines such as probation periods, parental leave, and fixed-term contract end dates, and ensure they are managed proactively.
- Maintain high data accuracy and filing quality in the relevant systems, and make sure payroll-relevant information is delivered on time.
- Capture, standardize, and improve HR processes using tools such as Confluence and BPMN so they remain a reliable single source of truth, while also identifying opportunities for optimization and automation.
- Run process feedback activities for areas such as onboarding, exit, and recruiting, prepare surveys technically, and generate analysis for different stakeholders.
- Coordinate the administrative interface with HR Business Partners, Payroll, Legal, Data & Systems, and Learning & Development to keep day-to-day operations running smoothly.
- Contribute actively to HR projects and cross-functional initiatives.
Candidate Profile
- You should have a completed degree with an HR or people-management focus, or a commercial apprenticeship with an HR specialization, or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in a similar role such as HR Operations, Payroll, or HR Administration is required, ideally in a tech environment.
- You need solid practical knowledge of German employment law; Austrian employment law is considered an advantage.
- Strong process orientation and an interest in improving and digitizing workflows are important.
- You are expected to work with high precision, reliability, strong prioritization and organization skills, clear communication, and discretion when handling sensitive data.
- Experience with HR systems, ideally Workday, and confident use of M365 are required; familiarity with Confluence and BPMN is a plus.
- Very strong German skills in speaking and writing are required, along with English at least at B level.
Benefits
- Free coffee, tea, and other beverages, plus fresh fruit and vegetables, and discounted meals in the canteen or meal subsidies depending on the location.
- Modern workplaces designed to meet different needs.
- A culture built on accountability, flat hierarchies, and open feedback, with a strong team spirit and support-oriented collaboration.
- Two learning days per quarter, access to an internal learning campus, and additional external development opportunities.
- Flexible working hours and multiple remote-work options.
- Team events and special recognition for birthdays and work anniversaries.
- Location-specific benefits tailored to the needs of each site.
Additional Information
The company emphasizes diversity and encourages applicants to be themselves and show their personality. The role is located in Germany, with work from Berlin and Würzburg mentioned in the posting.
