HR Operation Specialist - Americas

Role Overview

TikTok is looking for a proactive and meticulous HR Operations Specialist to oversee and enhance core HR functions across the Americas employee lifecycle. The position involves managing high-volume HR operations such as offboarding, transfers, employee data updates, compliance-related tasks, and more. The specialist will also leverage AI tools to identify process inefficiencies, improve controls, and drive automation to optimize workflow. This is a full-time, on-site role based in San Jose, CA.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain crucial HR operations workflows encompassing offboarding, employee transfers/job changes, data modifications, and compliance actions, focusing on precision, timeliness, and strong user experience for employees and stakeholders.
• Utilize AI technologies and data analytics to uncover bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvements across HR operations; design and implement AI-driven solutions for task automation, enhanced control, and operational effectiveness.
• Collaborate closely with HR Business Partners, Legal, IT, Payroll, Benefits, HRIS, and other teams to ensure seamless execution of HR operational activities and address escalations with practical solutions.
• Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to offboarding, transfers, employee data changes, ensuring alignment with regional compliance regulations.
• Work with HRIS and engineering teams to develop and refine automated workflows for HR tasks, aiming to reduce manual involvement and improve data accuracy through AI-assisted validations and smart routing.
• Track and analyze key HR operations performance metrics such as case volume, cycle times, error rates, compliance adherence, and rework trends; provide actionable insights and recommendations to leadership based on AI and analytics tools.
• Lead projects to standardize HR Operations functions, introduce new tools and automations, and implement training programs for stakeholders across the Americas.

Requirements

• Preferably over three years of practical experience in HR operations, managing employee lifecycle processes including offboarding, transfers, data updates, and HRIS transactions, with familiarity in Workday preferred.
• Hands-on experience employing AI tools (e.g., workflow automation, AI analytics, RPA, LLM-based platforms) to enhance HR workflows and operational efficiency.
• Comprehensive understanding of Americas labor laws and compliance issues affecting HR operations such as offboarding, final pay, benefits continuation, and job/status changes.
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and capability to juggle multiple deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including policy writing, internal communications, and articulating complex challenges and solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Preferred: Experience with AI/ML applications in HR operations (predictive analytics, process mining, chatbot development), proficiency with data analysis tools (SQL, Python, BI tools), experience at high-volume global tech firms, and skills in workflow automation platforms and stakeholder management.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary for this role in San Jose ranges from $76,000 to $168,000 annually, variable based on candidate qualifications and location. The total compensation package can include bonuses and restricted stock units. Benefits start from day one and include medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid parental leave, disability coverage, life insurance, well-being programs, 10 paid holidays, 10 sick days, and 17 days of paid personal time (prorated and incremented by tenure).
