HR Generalist Shared Services (North America & LATAM)

Role overview

Zensar is looking for an HR Generalist to support end-to-end HR operations for employees across North America and LATAM. This position sits within a shared services environment and calls for a structured approach, solid compliance awareness, strong coordination across teams, and the ability to keep pace in a fast-moving setup.

Onboarding and pre-joining coordination

• Handle the full onboarding journey, including offer checking, document collection, and HRIS-based system setup.
• Work closely with Talent Acquisition, IT, Payroll, and external partners to ensure everything is ready for Day 1.
• Follow country-specific joining requirements, including I-9 compliance for the US and local labor rules for Mexico, Colombia, and Canada.
• Monitor onboarding service-level timelines and help create a smooth joining experience for new employees.

Background verification

• Raise and monitor background checks through vendors.
• Examine verification findings and flag any mismatches or warning signs.
• Coordinate with internal teams on exceptions and follow through until closure.
• Respect regional privacy rules such as GDPR and DPDP wherever they apply.

Employee lifecycle administration

• Keep employee details current in HR platforms such as Oracle, Workday, and similar systems.
• Process employee updates including promotions, transfers, salary revisions, and personal information changes.
• Ensure records are accurate and updated on time to align with payroll processing.

Payroll and benefits support

• Partner with payroll teams to provide correct inputs for new hires, exits, and employee changes.
• Assist with benefits administration and respond to employee questions on insurance, leave, and related topics.
• Check payroll inputs carefully to reduce errors and maintain compliance across regions.

HR helpdesk and employee support

• Serve as the first contact for HR queries handled through ticketing platforms.
• Resolve requests within defined turnaround times.
• Maintain a strong employee service experience and meet delivery standards.

Compliance and documentation

• Follow labor laws and statutory obligations across the US, Mexico, Canada, and Colombia.
• Keep documentation organized, complete, and ready for audits.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and data privacy discipline.

Offboarding and exit management

• Manage the complete exit process, including resignation checks, clearance, and paperwork.
• Coordinate final settlement activities with payroll.
• Track or conduct exit interviews and share key observations.
• Ensure timely deactivation in systems and compliance with exit procedures.

Skills and competencies

• Strong command of global HR operations processes
• Working knowledge of North America and LATAM labor regulations
• Hands-on experience with HRMS platforms such as Oracle, Workday, or SAP
• Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills
• High accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting SLAs

Preferred background

• MBA or PGDM in Human Resources, or an equivalent qualification
• Previous experience in shared services or global HR operations
• Exposure to audit and compliance processes will be beneficial

Compensation

The stated salary range is INR 300,000 to INR 700,000 per year.
