About the Role
A rapidly growing tech startup is seeking a proactive and innovative People & Culture Associate to join a compact and energetic People team. Reporting directly to the Head of People & Culture, this role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to cultivating an exceptional workplace environment. The position involves hands-on involvement across various human resource functions including employee experience, daily operational tasks, advanced people analytics, and managing organizational change.
Working Hours and Location
Standard hours typically run from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with flexibility based on daily priorities. The company encourages efficient work and supports disconnecting after completing tasks. The office is situated near 30th & Broadway in New York City and operates a hybrid model requiring in-office presence Monday through Wednesday.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range from $145,000 to $175,000 annually, tailored to experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Culture & Community Engagement: Enhance and manage onboarding processes to guarantee new hires feel welcomed and prepared. Develop initiatives and events that reinforce company values and cultivate team spirit. Oversee essential programs such as performance reviews, succession planning, and employee engagement surveys.
- People Analytics & AI Utilization: Track and analyze workforce data including headcount, turnover, engagement levels, and diversity to generate strategic insights for leadership. Design and maintain AI-powered dashboards to improve reporting efficiency. Collaborate in presenting talent analytics and recommendations to senior executives.
- People Operations & Strategy: Work closely with IT, Finance, and Legal departments to ensure smooth and compliant HR operations. Identify operational inefficiencies and implement scalable process improvements. Serve as a reliable point of contact for employee inquiries pertaining to HR policies and programs.
- Change Management & Organizational Transitions: Support staff and leaders during periods of change with transparent and empathetic communication. Develop frameworks to facilitate smooth transitions and uphold employee trust during rapid company growth.
Qualifications and Desired Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in HR or People Operations, preferably within a swiftly expanding startup, ideally in the tech sector.
- Demonstrated proficiency in deploying AI tools daily to enhance workflows and create automated reporting dashboards is mandatory.
- Strong analytical capabilities with a comfort level in interpreting data metrics to inform business decisions.
- Adaptable generalist ability to juggle multiple priorities in a dynamic and sometimes ambiguous environment. Support staff will assist with routine tasks to allow focus on strategic initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree required; a robust academic record is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills paired with genuine empathy to balance corporate needs and employee well-being.
- Familiarity with modern collaboration and HR tools such as Notion, Slack, Google Workspace, Ramp, and advanced HRIS systems.
- Curiosity about fintech, Web3, or innovative financial infrastructure is encouraged, though previous experience is not mandatory.
