Job description
Role overview
A UK-based business is expanding its people operations team and is hiring a part-time HR Assistant to work entirely from home anywhere in the UK. The role reports to the client-side HR Manager and is intended for someone with some prior HR exposure who is keen to grow in a well-organised and supportive team environment.
What you will do
- Keep employee information accurate and up to date in HR records and systems.
- Coordinate onboarding for new starters, including paperwork, system access, and welcome materials.
- Draft standard HR correspondence such as letters, contracts, and routine documents.
- Assist with training coordination, review cycles, and internal HR communications.
- Track holiday, absence, and other time-off records.
- Handle basic employee questions and direct them to the appropriate team member when needed.
- Support the upkeep of HR policies, handbooks, and internal documentation.
What the employer is looking for
The ideal candidate will bring some experience in HR, people operations, or general administration. Strong English communication skills are important, along with the ability to manage confidential information carefully and discreetly. Good organisation, attention to detail, and comfort using Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and HR software are also required. Because this is a remote role, the person should be self-driven, dependable, have a stable home internet connection, and be able to work from a quiet space.
Desirable experience
Previous exposure to HRIS tools such as BambooHR, HiBob, Personio, or PeopleHR is a plus. A CIPD qualification, either in progress or completed, is also considered an advantage.
Working arrangement
This position is fully remote and available across the UK. It is primarily part-time, although full-time hours may also be offered. The role provides broad exposure to the employee lifecycle and a clear opportunity to build HR expertise within a structured team.
Pay details
The pay range is £12 to £16 per hour, which is approximately £23,400 to £31,200 per year based on a 37.5-hour working week.
Application process
Candidates interested in this opportunity should submit a CV for review. Applications are assessed on a rolling basis, so earlier submissions are encouraged. Shortlisted applicants will be contacted to discuss the next steps.
